Chile ha experimentado sus protestas ma\u0301s violentas en 30 an\u0303os. Si bien el desencadenante de las protestas fue un alza de las tarifas del metro en Santiago, las causas subyacentes radican en la elevada desigualdad de rentas (la ma\u0301xima en los pai\u0301ses miembros de la OCDE) y una clase media que lucha por huir de la precariedad, pese al robusto crecimiento econo\u0301mico registrado (+3,1% de media en la u\u0301ltima de\u0301cada). En las pro\u0301ximas semanas, los riesgos de saqueo se mantendra\u0301n altos y es probable que se produzcan grandes interrupciones en los servicios de transporte y la cadena de suministro. Las pequen\u0303as empresas de sectores especi\u0301ficos como el del transporte pu\u0301blico, los supermercados y minoristas pueden afrontar problemas de financiacio\u0301n.<\/p><p>En consecuencia, el gobierno ha presentado una &#8220;nueva agenda social&#8221;, comprometie\u0301ndose, por ejemplo, a aumentar la pensio\u0301n mi\u0301nima en un 20%, reducir los precios de los medicamentos para los pobres y garantizar un salario mi\u0301nimo mensual de 480 USD. Para financiar dicha agenda, el presidente Pin\u0303era anuncio\u0301 una subida de tipos del impuesto sobre la renta del 35% al 40% para el colectivo cuyos ingresos mensuales superan los 11 000 USD y un recorte de los salarios de los funcionarios pu\u0301blicos. Hasta ahora vemos que el impacto perceptible en la actividad econo\u0301mica nacional es escaso. Sin embargo, las protestas no han cesado y si continu\u0301an las huelgas, especialmente en la mina de cobre ma\u0301s grande del pai\u0301s, podri\u0301amos presenciar un impacto negativo ma\u0301s
