Saudita sufri\u00f3 un grave asalto a su infraestructura petrolera. Las instalaciones de procesamiento de crudo m\u00e1s importantes de la compa\u00f1\u00eda petrolera nacional Saudi Aramco en Abqaiq y el yacimiento petrol\u00edfero Khurais fueron atacadas por drones y\/o misiles. El resultado fue la destrucci\u00f3n de 5,7 millones de barriles al d\u00eda o aproximadamente la mitad de la producci\u00f3n de petr\u00f3leo saud\u00ed, limitando las materias primas a los petroqu\u00edmicos y reduciendo la producci\u00f3n de gas a la mitad. Sigue sin haber informaci\u00f3n clara al respecto. Los rebeldes hut\u00edes respaldados por Ir\u00e1n en el vecino Yemen, contra quienes las fuerzas armadas saud\u00edes aliadas con el gobierno yemen\u00ed llevan en guerra desde 2015, en gran medida sin \u00e9xito, se han atribuido la perpetraci\u00f3n de los ataques. Sin embargo, EE. UU. ha culpado a Ir\u00e1n, aunque sin pruebas por ahora, e Ir\u00e1n ha negado cualquier participaci\u00f3n. Arabia Saud\u00ed no ha responsabilizado directamente a nadie hasta ahora. Si bien a\u00fan es especulativo conjeturar acerca de las posibles consecuencias de este incidente tan peligroso, es casi seguro que los riesgos (geopol\u00edticos) en Oriente Medio se intensificar\u00e1n a\u00fan m\u00e1s. \u00bfCu\u00e1les son entonces las implicaciones econ\u00f3micas a corto plazo para los actores clave en el conflicto y para los precios del crudo?\u00a0<\/p><p>En Arabia Saud\u00ed, el retorno a la plena capacidad de producci\u00f3n de petr\u00f3leo podr\u00eda llevar desde unas semanas hasta varios meses, durante los cuales la reducci\u00f3n de la producci\u00f3n de crudo afectar\u00e1 a los ingresos fiscales y de exportaci\u00f3n, ampliando el d\u00e9ficit fiscal (pronosticado en el -6,8% del PIB antes del ataque) y reduciendo el super\u00e1vit por cuenta corriente (+6% del PIB) en 2019. No obstante, el impacto negativo en el crecimiento econ\u00f3mico se ver\u00e1 m\u00e1s o menos contrarrestado por una mayor producci\u00f3n de la (re)construcci\u00f3n. Por ese motivo, mantenemos nuestra previsi\u00f3n de crecimiento del PIB del +1,2% para
