El PIB global en 2018 aument\u00f3 un +2,9%, acorde con nuestras expectativas y equiparable al de 2015, marcando la m\u00e1xima recuperaci\u00f3n en nueve a\u00f1os. Pero los detalles fueron desalentadores, ya que el consumo creci\u00f3 un +2,8% en el 4T, porcentaje relativamente decepcionante, y el gasto en diciembre en realidad cay\u00f3 un -0,6% mensual, el peor en m\u00e1s de nueve a\u00f1os. Los ingresos tambi\u00e9n cayeron un -0,2% intermensual en enero, el mayor descenso en m\u00e1s de seis a\u00f1os.<\/p><p>Los datos de fabricaci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n fueron d\u00e9biles, ya que las nuevas entradas de pedidos de bienes duraderos principales cayeron un -1% intermensual, la cuarta p\u00e9rdida en cinco meses, lo que aboc\u00f3 la tasa interanual al +2% desde el +8,8% anotado siete meses atr\u00e1s. De manera similar, el \u00edndice de fabricaci\u00f3n ISM se redujo, pasando de 56,6 a 54,2 puntos, el nivel m\u00e1s bajo en m\u00e1s de dos a\u00f1os. En un contexto m\u00e1s positivo, la confianza del consumidor de febrero aument\u00f3 considerablemente, en +9,7 puntos, impulsada por un salto de +14 puntos en las expectativas futuras, la mayor ganancia en m\u00e1s de siete a\u00f1os. Los consumidores evidentemente se sintieron aliviados tras el fin del cierre del gobierno, el alza del mercado de valores y las esperanzas comerciales. El presidente de la Fed, Powell, reiter\u00f3 su enfoque paciente para evaluar los movimientos en el testimonio del Congreso, y el presidente Trump prorrog\u00f3 un plazo para aumentar los aranceles sobre los productos chinos como resultado del avance de las
