What kind of information do we collect?

The data you provide to us, for example when you register on our website, may be your name, email address, telephone number, job title, company name.

For what purpose do we collect your personal information?

1. Regarding the navigation and use of our website, we will process your data to:

  • Attend to and manage suggestions, complaints and other queries made through the corresponding form.

  • To send you (upon subscription) electronic credit analysis newsletters and economic and sectoral information of interest to your business.

We may also employ them in compliance with legal obligations to comply with law enforcement requests or discovery procedures, or when required or permitted by applicable laws, court orders, government regulations, or governmental authorities, when it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud,  situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person or violations of our policies or terms.

What is the legitimacy for the processing of personal information?

The legal basis for the processing of your data for the purposes indicated is the consent you have given us to, among other activities, carry out commercial and marketing actions.

On the other hand, the legal basis for the processing of your data is the execution of the contract we enter into with you or the application of the pre-contractual measures that you request from us; 

In addition, in certain cases, Solunion will process personal data for compliance with the legal obligations that are applicable to the companies of the group.

And, finally, Solunion’s legitimate interest in sending you electronic commercial communications related to the contracted services, carrying out communications between companies of the Solunion Group, with the aim of internally coordinating certain processes and controls, as well as processing data of third parties linked to the policies, in accordance with the provisions of the section “Processing of data of third parties (representatives,  contact persons and self-employed)”.

To whom may we disclose your personal information?

The information you provide may be communicated to the companies of the Solunion Group and shareholders (Mapfre and Allianz Trade) for processing for the purposes described above, as well as third parties with whom it has entered into collaboration agreements.

International Transfer

The personal information we collect resides within the European Economic Area, although some Group companies may have a presence in other countries and your personal information may be collected in the country in which you reside.

In these cases, Solunion has adopted adequate guarantees to effectively protect personal data, in accordance with the requirements established in current data protection regulations.

Processing of data of third parties (representatives, contact persons and freelancers)

The nature of credit and surety insurance requires the processing of data of third parties linked to insured transactions, such as customers, debtors, guarantors, guarantors, representatives, professional contacts or commercial counterparties of our policyholders or insured parties when their data is necessary to analyze, assess, classify, verify, accept, maintain, modify or cancel insured risks, set credit limits,  manage insurance policies, administer claims, non-payments, collections, subrogations, assignments of credit, claims and/or comply with legal obligations that are applicable to Solunion. The legal basis that legitimises this data processing is Solunion’s legitimate interest in carrying out an adequate assessment of the insured risk.

Thus, your data may be provided to Solunion by the policyholder, insured, mediator or collaborator itself, or be obtained from valid external sources, public registries, sources of commercial, financial or solvency information, sources accessible to the public or authorized third parties, provided that there is a legal basis that legitimizes such processing. The information provided to us may only be communicated to third parties in accordance with the provisions of this policy.

In these cases, we will retain your details and credit rating for the duration of the policy linked to you. Once finalized, we may keep this information for future evaluations if a new policy arises related to you, unless you request to exercise data protection rights as set forth in this policy. In any case, we will keep your data in accordance with the provisions of the following section.

How long do we store your personal information?

We only store your personal information to the extent that we need it in order to be able to use it for the purpose for which it was collected, and according to the legal basis for processing it in accordance with applicable law. We will keep your personal information for as long as there is a contractual and/or commercial relationship with you and thereafter for any legal periods during which claims or requirements may arise. 

In these cases, we will keep the information duly blocked, without giving it any use, as long as it may be necessary for the exercise or defence of claims or any type of judicial, legal or contractual liability may arise from its processing, which must be attended to and for which its recovery is necessary.

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information and privacy and review those measures regularly.
